Agree that each of you at least once in your life had a fear before starting a work. Sometimes the workload seems huge to you, then you don't know how to start and how to properly organize your prep. So, we decided to create this detailed checklist and give you the opportunity to do your work at a calm pace and not forget anything.

1. Choosing the Aspect of Your Videos

First of all, you need to settle on a theme of the work that you're ready to do. It can be blogs on YouTube, commercials for companies, videos for social networks or mobile applications.

2. Customer Search

After determining the specific areas in which you’re ready to work, you should look for clients in certain places:
- on freelance platforms such as Upwork, Youdo, Freelancer, etc.
- in social networks or in the comments under thematic videos
- in thematic groups where you can place your portfolio

3. Mood Boards and References

References are needed in order to keep cool ideas in mind and get inspired. They can be found on Vimeo.com, Pinterest.com, etc.

4. The Main Idea and Concept

At this stage, you should have a layout that will become your support for further work. Come up with the style of the video and its meaning. Also, think about how you will achieve this.

5. Choosing the Appropriate Music

You need to choose a melody that matches the atmosphere of the video and the technical task, if there is one. It's important to make sure that the copyright isn't violated. You can resort to a free stock of audio materials or purchase licensed music.

6. The Sound Basis of Your Video

It will be great if you can recreate the atmosphere of the "roller coaster". Choose the music so that the audio track makes the viewer feel emotions throughout the video.

7. Adding Basic Frames that reflect the Structure of Your Video and Ideas

Try to use the cinematic space on the screen with the same objects and characters. You should only zoom them in or out. Don't forget about the exposition and the ending (i.e. the general plan). And, of course, work on the reference points that will definitely be present in the clip.

8. Sound Design

Music is not the only thing that should be present in your video. Sounds make your video live, add energy and help to place accents. Remember it.

9. Color Correction and Effects

This is a very important point. Take enough time to work with color and effects so that the video is perceived more pleasantly and organically. The main thing is to remember the style of your video and stick to it. If you have applied some effect, then it should be repeated at least once more.

10. Deadline and Redline

You should limit yourself in time, even if the customer didn't do it. Be sure to set yourself a deadline on your own, i.e. decide when you will hand over your project. Redline is your personal deadlines for completing tasks. Break the project into pieces and give each part its own deadline. It will help you avoid situations when you finish all the work at the last moment.
